Business Intelligence Developer Jobs

The Business Intelligence Developer will be responsible for data pipeline and dashboard development while delivering data-centric solutions and insights that drive growth in the business. He/She will create, automate, and scale data pipelines and Power BI reporting to support cross-functional needs. The Business Intelligence Developer will focus on creating and validating datasets and automating reports, while also generating insights and developing action-oriented analyses. The position will work with the business to provide database development support, automation and ETL support (extract, transform, load), data-intricacy expertise, and efficiency improvements. This role reports to the Analytics Manager on the Analytics Team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Identify areas of our day-to-day work that should be automated and create solutions to make those more efficient.
• Architect innovative solutions to create, automate, and manage data pipelines (SQL, Python, etc..) to scale data analysis and insights.
• Drive operational excellence that supports cross-functional partners, and ensures the smooth running of weekly, monthly, and quarterly business rhythms.
• Ability to work independently and with ambiguity. Be curious and proactive in owning projects. Foresee problems before they happen.
• Use technology and business acumen to build data pipelines and tools to automate reporting and generate insights.
• Use various data sources and creativity to architect datasets and metrics, solve problems, and influence decision-making through data discovery, automation, and Power BI dashboard development.
• Develop a deep understanding of data availability and quality. Review information for accuracy and reconcile data. Own the data validation process of many sources.
• Consistent and on-time attendance.
• Design, create, and maintain SQL databases and ensure reliability.
• Translate user requirements into technical designs, and further convert them into high-quality deliverables.
• Additional duties as assigned by manager.
• Document contents in data warehouse and create technical documentation for BI tools.
• Plan, prioritize, and deliver SQL solutions, ETL (extract, transform, load), script, and Power BI dashboard enhancements.

Education, Qualifications and/or Experience:

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Experience in extracting, manipulating, and analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and making recommendations
• Analytical thinker who can break down problems using data and technology
• BA/BS in an analytical field (e.g. Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or a related field)
• Experience in Power BI and Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) for dashboard reporting
• Strong understanding of SQL programming required (SSMS experience preferred)
• Familiarity with ERPs (Microsoft Business Central MBC)
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in an analytics role and 2 years in data development
• Experience with Python scripting preferred
• Experience writing and maintaining extract, transform, and load (ETL) scripts that operate on a variety of structured and unstructured sources
