Position: BI Consultant

Duration: 10 months to start
The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate for this position is a highly analytical, detailed-oriented and motivated report writer. They have extensive experience with SQL, Power BI, or Tableau and are highly familiar with data warehouse queries, SharePoint. They are passionate about process automation, data integrity, and creating new reports. They understand and drive conversations for improvement, are enthusiastic about new technologies, and love to impart this knowledge and enthusiasm with others.
Principal Duties:
As a Business Intelligence Consultant, your responsibilities will include:

• Create ad hoc reports and datasets based on data requests
• Design and create new financial reports, visualizations, and workflows based on business logic as provided by manager through conversations with internal and external stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot reports or processes to resolve errors
• Desire and ability to communicate and collaborate at a high level.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Able to identify and develop creative solutions to problems.
• Document report or process requirements by writing clear procedures and instructional manuals
• Strong customer service and customer relations skills.
• Maintain/update current reports and workflows based on evolving needs
• Other duties as assigned.
• Automate current processes based on business logic as provided by manager or stakeholders
• Strong understanding of data collections and data flow.

Requirements:

• Degree – B.S. in Business, Management Information System, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• Functional Experience – Candidate must have strong skills in Power BI and SQL
• Communication – Candidate must demonstrate the ability to communicate in verbal and written form with both technical and non-technical personnel.
• Interpersonal Relationships – Candidate must demonstrate the ability to work well with others of all personality types while demonstrating problem-solving and the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Initiative – Candidate must demonstrate success as a self-starting, hardworking and inquisitive worker.
• Teamwork – Candidate must demonstrate the ability to work with cross-functional teams to deliver on a common goal.
• Functional Experience – 5+ years’ experience with Power BI or Tableau

Bonus skills:

• Workflow experience (MS Power Automate preferred)
• Strong knowledge of FINET or data warehouse
• Financial or Education Domain experience: Working experience in governmental accounting, finance and/or education domains.
• SharePoint experience (Office 365 preferred)
• Certification: Power BI, SQL, or Tableau
