Business Information Analyst Sr.
  • Will consider highly qualified candidates from additional locations. This position will take part in Elevance Health's hybrid work model which includes remote work and 0-3 days in office per month.
The Business Information Analyst Sr. is responsible for analyzing, reporting and developing recommendations on data related to complex and varied business metrics.
How You Will Make An Impact
  • Explore and identify data within the Enterprise Data Warehouse to satisfy report requirements.
  • Creates and maintains reports and data sources used to track business performance.
  • Engage stakeholders to understand and document business requirements.
  • Utilize SQL to develop and/or update data sources used for reports and dashboards, and to answer ad hoc data questions.
  • Provides data integrity by identifying data gaps, errors, anomalies, inconsistencies, and redundancies in the content, structure, and relationships within data; cleans and prepares data, as necessary.
  • Creates and publishes periodic reports, as well as any necessary ad hoc reports.
  • May make recommendations based upon data analysis.
  • Leverage knowledge of business and formatting best practices to create thoughtful and effective report designs that creates a data story for end user.
  • Develops and analyzes business performance reports (e.g. for claims data, provider data, utilization data) and provides notations of performance deviations and anomalies.
  • Monitor the volume of requests and communicate expectations with customers.
  • Write simple technical requirements for application, data warehouse and reporting teams.
  • End-to-end development of new reports and dashboards, and modification of existing reports and dashboards, utilizing our reporting tools - Business Objects, Tableau, or SSRS.
  • Analyzes data and summarizes performance using summary statistical procedures.
  • Serve as on-duty staff, sharing rotation with other team members, ensuring that scheduled reports run in a timely manner and user requests and questions are answered.
  • May require taking business issue and devising best way to develop appropriate diagnostic and/or tracking data that will translate business requirements into usable decision support tools.
Minimum Requirements
  • Requires a BS/BA degree in related field and a minimum of 3 years data analysis or related experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Expert level Experience with SQL, including SQL Server or similar RDBMS systems.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
  • Experience with stored procedures, database design, query optimization, and relational database design.
  • Experience with relational databases and an ability to manipulate large sets of data.
  • Knowledge of health care industry data specific to benefits management would be a plus.
  • Experience with enterprise reporting tools (Tableau, Business Objects and QlikSense preferred)
  • Understanding of ETL and Data Warehousing concepts.
  • Experience writing business and technical requirements preferred.
For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $72,720 to $130,896.
