The Business Credit Analyst is responsible for the execution of Schreiber Foods, Inc. US and/or international credit and collection policies in order to safeguard company assets, ensure timely collections, and enhance company results.
What you’ll do:
  • Understand global credit policies and procedures to safeguard accounts receivable.
  • Complete other Credit responsibilities and projects including credit references, ad hoc reporting and analysis, etc.
  • Network with other credit professionals as appropriate.
  • Understand defined collection strategies. Monitor outstanding receivables and customer payment trends. Promote the timely collection of accounts receivable through collection actions, including holding/ approving/ rescheduling customer orders as deemed appropriate. Investigate reasons for payment delay and create awareness of potential credit issues, including recommended action to mitigate risk or loss, using targeted communication to appropriate levels within the organization. Pursue improved payment habits/ resolution of credit issues.
  • Partner with Customer Service claims team to manage deductions including process and policy definition, timely analysis and assistance with deduction resolution. Provide advice regarding appropriate collection approach, suggestions to reduce future deductions and to reduce amount of deductions written off.
  • Assess credit risk of new US and international customers through analysis of the customer credit application, credit reports, financial statements or ratios, internet research and other relevant sources of data. Establish credit terms and limits based on risk assessment in conformance with company guidelines and any legal requirements. Ensure appropriate customer set-up, including completion of any necessary restricted party screening.
  • Perform credit reviews of new and existing suppliers to ensure financial stability.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customer and supplier contacts as appropriate.
  • Build and maintain relationships with all levels of internal stakeholders. Advise and educate Sales, Customer Service, Supply Chain and other partners related to risk, extended terms requests, payment issues, improvement opportunities, etc.
  • Continually assess the credit terms and limits for established customers; modify as appropriate.
  • Represent Credit on cross-functional teams and support Company initiatives.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for credit, A/R and collections systems, including Oracle and Trade Management. Maintain system setups, lead/execute work required related to upgrades, new implementations, and patches, including system testing and improvements.
  • Understand performance metrics, such as reduction of working capital/ days outstanding, justification for price increases, etc. and use data to drive measurable results.
  • Evaluate processes on an ongoing basis. Research and recommend best practices or other opportunities to drive improvements, reduce risk, etc.
What you need to succeed:
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field
  • Strong communication with strong analytical and negotiation skills
  • 1+ year of experience in Finance or related field
  • Internal Partners completed two years in current position
  • Corporate credit and collections experience is beneficial
  • Understand global credit policies and procedures to safeguard accounts receivable
