General Description:

Tolin Mechanical is seeking an intern, currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from an undergraduate program, who is looking for a great opportunity to gain practical work experience. As a Business Analytics Intern, you will be responsible for supporting the analytics team on multiple projects over the course of the summer as well as gain an understanding of Tolin’s business applications and datasets to create dynamic reporting using Power BI. Additionally, you will work closely with the Sales and Operations teams to learn different business processes and help to find ways to make them more efficient. The time commitment for this position is 32 hours per week.

Summary of Job Functions and Equipment:

• Develop a basic understanding of Tolin’s proprietary business applications.
• Design data visualizations in Power BI to provide business decision support.
• Help find ways to utilize technology to streamline business processes.
• Write SQL to transform and prepare data within SQL Server database.
• Meet with stakeholders and manager to identify project requirements.
• Utilize different technologies to collect, validate and manage business related data from various sources.
• Gain a basic Tolin’s business approach and help develop KPI’s for stakeholders across various departments.

Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to solve problems and work both independently and in a team environment.
• Proficiency in SQL or similar data querying programming languages.
• Basic understanding of the HVAC industry is a plus.
• Strong organization, project, and time management skills.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau or Looker.
• Proficiency using the Microsoft 365 suite of tools including Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Engineering, Data Science/Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Administration, or related field.
• High school degree or equivalent.

• Base pay range: $18.00 - $22.00/hr. Combined experience, education, skills and knowledge will be taken into consideration.

• Must be able to lift to up to 15 pounds at times.
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
