Job Description
eScholar is looking for a Business Analyst, Software Design – Uniq-ID® to work with the eScholar Uniq-ID® team. You will have an opportunity to work with and be a key contributor to the team in this full-time remote position.
This position focuses heavily on designing user interfaces, writing functional and technical design documentation, and other software design functions. This role is responsible for bridging the gap between user/client needs and requirements with development specifications and user stories.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Various Ad hoc responsibilities.
  • Identifies and recommends process and design improvements.
  • Communicates and meets with stakeholders.
  • Ensures solutions meet the needs of the client/user.
  • Resolves design issues and addresses developer and QA team questions.
  • Provides end user support as needed.
  • Creates detailed design documents, help content, and other product documentation.
  • Leads design of features from concept to delivery.
  • Works closely with product management to identify issues in design, support, and quality assurance.
  • Discovers areas of improvement and implements solutions.
  • Collaborates with user experience specialists and developers to create solutions/features to address customer needs.
  • Leads brainstorming sessions with cross-functional teams.
  • Conducts usability tests, presentations and / or focus groups with users.
  • Transforms requirements into functional designs/specifications.
Qualifications:
  • Proactive and self-motivated and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
  • Ability to meet and coordinate multiple tasks and tight deadlines.
  • Understanding of user experience best practices.
  • Experience working on software development projects with a strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
  • Excellent communicator (verbal/written/presentation).
  • Experience creating wireframes and mockups wire framing tools.
  • Experience prioritizing features and functions based on product vision and release goals.
  • Proficient in SQL Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle.
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Business Administration, or Management or equivalent experience.
  • Solves problems in a time-constrained situation.
  • Experience working directly with management, developers, and quality assurance specialists to accomplish team goals.
  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to lead collaboration and brainstorming sessions and to build consensus.
  • Experience in agile and waterfall methodologies.
  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of information into requirements, use cases, and design specifications.
  • At least 3 years of experience designing web-based software, including writing detailed specifications.
Desired:
  • Understanding of JavaScript frameworks.
  • Proficient in Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience designing dashboard and/or engaging applications with an understanding of user experience best practices.
  • Experience in the education field.
