Job Description

Business Analyst

Precision Analytical is the creator of the DUTCH Test, an innovative hormone test that creates better tools for healthcare professionals to explore hormone issues with their patients. PA exists to make it easier for patients and their healthcare providers to find answers to complex clinical questions. This position is located in McMinnville, Oregon, in the beautiful Willamette Valley.We are seeking candidates who can work effectively from both a home office and our McMinnville office or other worksites.

Job Summary:

The Business Analyst (BA) strives to continually improve the user experience and productivity of staff through the development and use of business software.The BA serves as the key liaison between the business and technology areas of the organization while providing project coordination, training and change management support.The BA reviews, analyzes, supports, and evaluates user needs for business systems; documents requirements, designs and performs testing and training, and helps the organization adapt to change.


Major Duties & Responsibilities:

Application Support

  • Troubleshoot problems and liaison with staff and vendors to resolve issues
  • Analyze and document functional and non-functional requirements for business systems
  • Maintain high level of competency with software through continued use and training
  • Assist in long term strategic planning for business systems as well as financial aspects of projects including budgeting, forecasting, business case and return on investment calculations
  • Manage software products including but not limited to incorporating new version releases and customization of the product
  • Develop documentation for systems following company standards including workflow processes, test plans, user guides and software testing/quality control standards
  • Support business software applications, providing first- and second-level support for end users while coordinating with technical staff and vendor resources to analyze, prioritize and manage requests for additional assistance and system enhancements


Change Management and Training

  • Develop specialized knowledge of Precision Analytical (PA)’s business processes and understanding of the role of business applications in improving processes and services
  • Develop communication plans, training plans and coordinate other change management activities that impact current roles or require additional skills
  • Provide business software-related training to staff and train Super Users to allow them to assist others


Project Support

  • Advocate for end user needs in systems improvement projects and ensure different systems work together to provide the best possible user experience
  • Manage or participate in cross-functional projects to implement or improve enterprise business applications and processes
  • Use PA’s Core Values in daily activities and interactions with others
  • Track project deliverables while also developing and delivering project status reports
  • Collaboratively perform other duties as needed to support company goals
  • Assist in defining scope, resource requirements and timeframe expectations of process improvement and technology projects
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to improve knowledge and skillsets


Qualifications & Desired Skills:

  • 3+ years’ related experience including exposure to software application support, process analysis, change management, and/or project management
  • Knowledge of organizational change management techniques to help end users prepare and adapt to system changes
  • Dependable and punctual; ability to work flexible hours to meet business needs
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and be results oriented and solution focused
  • Knowledge and experience with Healthcare industry, lab environment and associated software applications such as Lab Information Management Systems, Patient Portals, Accounting Software, CRM, and Learning Management Systems (desirable)
  • Working knowledge of user experience / user interface design techniques, including wireframes and prototyping
  • Ability to interpret business process changes and represent them in flowcharts, swimlanes, decision charts, etc. Knowledge of BPMN is recommended
  • Ability to communicate complex information in a simple manner to stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to lead small projects. Working knowledge of project management methods, tools, and techniques
  • Familiarity with representing data, data relationships, and logical data modelling (desirable)
  • Bachelor’s degree or greater in Business, Information Technology, or similar field
  • Positive attitude; a champion for our people, values, culture, company, and brand
  • Experience defining requirements for business systems. Familiarity with user stories, use cases, and other methods for documenting requirements. Demonstrated ability to lead review and agreement of stated requirements
  • Adept at establishing trust, empathy and positive working relationships with coworkers and vendor partners


Work Environment:

This position is in an office (or employee remote) environment with frequent use of a computer and related hardware.A person must be able to stand and/or sit; see, hear and talk; use hands to type, handle or feel tools or controls; use hands and arms to reach.Occasionally lifting/moving up to 30lbs is also required.


In addition, this position may require a person to travel via car, airplane, and other modes of transportation to various sites including Precision Analytical locations, stores or vendor locations, training or meeting venues, etc.
