Location: 100% Remote working PST hours

Salary: $35/hr

Business Systems Analyst:

The Business Systems Analyst plays a vital role in supporting customers through technology. This person utilizes creative, flexible, critical thinking to analyze and resolve complex problems, processes, or support requests while driving continuous improvement. Overseeing and reporting system operational performance is key. The primary focus is partnering with customers to acquire the necessary understanding of business objectives and processes and with IT to investigate new uses of existing data and systems to achieve competitive advantage and to implement technology changes to achieve short and long-term business goals.

Business Systems Analyst Responsibilities:

• Assists in formulating and defining small project/system scope and objectives and developing detailed systems specifications from which programs will be written and that fit with the Bank's system architecture standards.
• The Business System Analyst helps team members grow their business, systems, and process knowledge and models superior customer focus, communication, and collaboration.
• Participates in evaluating existing systems and procedures to identify deficiencies and maintain more effective data handling, conversion, input/output requirements, and storage.
• Works with IT team through coding and implementation to ensure product matches envisioned result.
• Documents system parameters and formats to ensure hardware, and software systems compatibility, and coordinates and/or modifies systems parameters.
• Assists with analyzing, developing, and revising existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary.
• The Business Systems Analyst participates in small to very large project efforts to provide subject matter and application expertise; to gather data to inform impact analysis for business and IT; to perform validation of solutions to satisfy requirements, user needs, and business processes; to identify and documents defects; and to understand stages of testing.
• Duties may include responsibility for documenting business requirements; initiating maintenance requests; writing test cases; and managing end-user testing.
• Assists in conducting feasibility studies and may participate in recommending new or enhanced applications software to meet business needs.

Business Systems Analyst Qualifications:

• Strong ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
• Strong knowledge of computer software, such as Visual Basic, Java, SQL, etc.
• Basic proficiency in one or more of the following preferred: Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Principals and Practices, Lean methodology, Microsoft Excel, database querying applications such as SQL Server and TOAD, VBA, HTML, CSS.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills are necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
• Verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong knowledge of design techniques and principles involved in the production of drawings and models.

Education/Experience:

• Experience working in information technology in a financial services company, or working in a group insurance company with a technical background or combination of relevant education and/or experience.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• 2-4 years of experience.
