Salary/Pay Rate: $16 an hour + shared tips (average $3-$4 per hour in tips)
Part Time position, night and weekend closing shifts (4:30pm to 9:30pm, 4 to 5 nights per week) preferred availability.
Terrapin is looking for a Retail Associate (Budtender) to join our growing company. As a Boulder, Colo.-based national cannabis company, Terrapin is a pioneer in the emerging industry. Terrapin is a cultivator, processor and provider of high-quality medical and recreational cannabis products. Over 10 years of operations, Terrapin has grown into a multi-state company with nearly 300 employees.
Budtenders are the face of the Retail Marijuana Industry that represent the mission and the goals of Terrapin Care Station while providing superior customer service and maintaining a level of product knowledge to meet the needs of the patron, while providing an education on the safe consumption of available products. They are also responsible for knowing the laws that govern a legal sale of marijuana in either a medical or retail setting to ensure that the business is operating within the confines of compliance. They are the last people in the seed-to-sale chain of production who have the task of delivering products while giving the customer the best experience Terrapin Care Station can provide.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides customer education about products and uses
- Conducts transactions at the register
- Remains upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time, up to 88% of the working day
- Moves about on foot to accomplish tasks to meet customer/patient needs
- Helps keep the store clean and tidy, including sweeping and mopping
- Other duties as assigned by management
- Works with leadership to understand company goals and procedures
- General Customer Service
- Fronts and faces product on shelves
- Checks customer/patient ID’s
- Stocks products on shelves, which requires bending the body downward at the waist, ascending and descending a step stool, and lifting boxes up to forty pounds
- Must have reliable transportation to/from work
- Experience in the use of cannabis and possess a willingness to learn strain genetics including their properties and effects
- Must be able to operate the point of sale system and maintain accurate cash handling practices
- Must be able to perform simple math
- Must be willing to learn about new products and cannabinoids
- Must be computer literate
- Must possess a willingness to learn the effects and applications of concentrates and other THC infused products
- Must be organized and maintain a neat and clean work station
- Must have familiarity with grams vs ounces
- Ability to obtain or maintain current state specific cannabis industry credentials such as MED badge
- Must be aware of and abide by all laws and compliance surrounding retail operations
- Must have 1 year of cash handling experience
- Is a customer service professional
- Is familiar with Windows, Microsoft Office and Google Drive
- Must have 1 year of customer service experience
