Job Description

Position: BSA/AML Compliance EDD (hybrid)

Location: Tampa, FL (hybrid)

Our client, a major Global Financial Institution, is looking to hire banking professionals with a background in Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Compliance for their Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) Team.


We are looking for candidates with experience working at Financial Institutions such as Banks and Wealth Management firms in their BSA/AML Risk Departments. The desired candidates should have performed tasks similar to the ones listed below:


  • Identify, evaluate, and raise issues relating to money laundering and high-risk clients' reputational risks.
  • Supervise data and trend examination concerning the wealth source review process, and provide reports to the concerned parties.
  • Take the lead in managing and directing processes that back the COMPANY’s customer due diligence (CDD) and enhanced due diligence (EDD) program, with an emphasis on the source of wealth analysis.
  • Act as the primary contact for queries, challenges, and escalations in the review of clients' wealth sources.
  • Collaborate closely with both the business associates engaged in account initiation and the Second Line of Defense Compliance teams to maintain client relationships.
  • Oversee all due diligence activities and assess risks, including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) compliance, anti-money laundering (AML), and reputational risks for both new and existing customers.
  • Have comprehensive responsibility for raising risk issues with a special emphasis on reviewing the source of wealth of certain clients.
  • Develop, revise, and guide procedures related to client onboarding, while leading crucial projects aimed at assessing and minimizing the COMPANY's exposure to money laundering and relevant reputational risks.
  • Manage the complete workflow of a program aiming to assess the wealth sources of clients to minimize potential Money Laundering risks.
  • Serve as the initial defense line, aiding in client onboarding, in-depth due diligence, and monitoring negative news for the COMPANY.
  • Review and escalate as needed, clients’ sources of wealth to analyze possible Money Laundering risks for the COMPANY.
  • Respond to monthly quality checks concerning the wealth source review process and offer supervisory guidance to Analysts.



Qualifications:

  • Possession of an undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Know Your Customer (KYC), Customer Identification Program (CIP), and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) requirements.
  • Exceptional interpersonal abilities, with proven skill in effective verbal and written communication.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including team management, and evidence of a robust work ethic and high integrity.
  • Proficiency in Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures, specifically focusing on the examination of potential clients' sources of wealth during the onboarding process.
  • Familiarity with MS Office and its applications.
  • Over 5 years of specialized experience in Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Compliance within the financial services sector, such as Banks or Wealth Management institutions.
