Position Summary

Constructors, Inc. is searching for a highly motivated Bridge Builder to join our team. This position performs work related to the construction, maintenance and repair of bridges under the supervision of a Foreman or Superintendent.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Construct prefabricated or built-in-place decking with over hangs for bridges.

Ability to build wood and metal forms for the casting of concrete structures.

Construct bridge related structures and other concrete structures according to specification.

Assists with the pouring and finishing of concrete.

Ability to tie rebar walls and cages.

Properly erects and dismantles all forms and other supports.

Communicates with supervisory personnel to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.

Assists with other bridge building activities.

Performs other duties assigned while on the job site.

Participates in and promote safety procedures to promote a safe working environment including compliance with all safety rules and regulations.

Position Requirements and Education

  • Prefer 1 to 3 years of experience in bridge construction.
  • Ability to properly manage and prioritize resources.
  • A High School diploma or GED or related field.
  • Technical Knowledge of materials and construction concepts.
  • Team player, with strong leadership skills, who can operate effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers and all levels of management.
  • Ability to work in high production environment and respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines.

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands, and fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.

The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.

Must be able to navigate construction stages and landscape of a project.

The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.

The employee is occasionally exposed to hot and cold weather conditions.

The noise level in the office environment is usually very load in the field.

Work may be away from home requiring overnight stays possibly a week at a time or longer.

Condition of Employment

Candidate is required to meet the above qualifications, task frequency and PPE requirements. Approval of pre-employment reference & background checks, and post offer drug/alcohol testing with fit for employment screening (if required) are required as conditions of employment.
