Job Description

Job Summary

Branch Managers lead the customer experience while managing staff and promoting bank products and services. Responsible for adherence to compliance procedures and internal/operational risk controls in accordance with all applicable regulatory standards, requirements, and policies. Monitors branch service quality and actively coaches, develops, and motivates employees.

Essential Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Branch Operations

  • Accountable for day-to-day operations and management of the branch and branch staff.
  • Understands branch P&Ls and drives to operate efficiently.
  • Orients employees to Bank policies and procedures, clearly communicating work duties and responsibilities to ensure established procedures are clearly understood and followed.
  • Partners with bank leaders to organize networking events and seminars to generate new business; coordinates logistics for smooth execution of these activities.
  • Participates in decisions related to the selection, promotion, transfer, and discipline of assigned personnel. Schedules and supervises branch employees.
  • Continues professional development through training, seminars, certifications, and membership in professional associations, as applicable.
  • Ensures the completion of monthly operational activities and required checklists.
  • Serves as escalation point for customer issues and concerns.
  • Opens, closes, and maintains accounts; collects and documents required client information.
  • Performs duties in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and related anti-money laundering laws, and in accordance with the Bank’s policies and procedures.
  • Reviews audit results and performance reports. Conducts root cause analysis for areas requiring improvement and develops and implements solutions.
  • Completes all required annual compliance training including BSA. Participates in community activities and civic organizations.
  • Manages the security of the branch, including the issuance of keys and access to the Bank’s security alarm and vault area.
  • Ensures that employees are able to identify customer’s financial needs and effectively present the Bank’s products and services,
  • Evaluates staff’s work performance and provides feedback through consistent and ongoing coaching and communication; conducts effective performance appraisals and takes corrective action when necessary.

Training and Experience

  • Four-year college degree or 3–5 years relevant bank branch operations experience.
  • General knowledge of banking products and various computer software (i.e., MS Office).
  • Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, problem solve, supervise a team.
  • Knowledge of Regulatory/Compliance laws, teller operations,

Supervisory Responsibility

Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the branch. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Work involves extensive use of computers and may include occasional pushing, pulling, or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Must be able to speak clearly and hear and understand normal conversations in person and over the phone. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and the normal hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The job may require evenings and week-end work for community involvement or problem resolution.

Travel

This position will be based at a specific branch location but will require the flexibility to work at other branch locations as needed. Travel to bank locations and customer facilities for meetings is required and will primarily occur during the normal workday.
