PERSONNEL STATUS: Full Time

OVERVIEW:

Under the general supervision of the Theater Operations Manager, is responsible to coordinate ticketing for all theater events. Manage box office staff, policies and procedures, office and clerical functions of the box office. Manage organic social media promotions for the theater.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Will be responsible for the accounting and analytics of all event ticketing, and ticket stock as well as building all theater events, using computerized or manual ticketing system.

Will update the marquee, website, and calendar and promote social media for the Theater, with all event information.

Will act as primary office ticket personnel during normal business hours. Will handle ticket orders from a phone in or walk up basis including email confirmations.

Will supervise non-merit, part-time personnel for box office duties as scheduled. Will solve problems arising for such personnel. Communicates all ticketing event information to necessary staff.

Will recruit, schedule, train and supervise theater volunteers for all event coverage. Will coordinate the annual formal volunteer training and appreciation dinner. Will solve problems arising for such volunteers.

Will communicate with and distribute tickets to outlets, sponsors, commission, board members or others as directed by General Manager, assuring accurate accounting for all tickets including comps.

Will reconcile ticketed events, including completing all necessary tabulations and reporting requirements.

Will maintain both computer and physical files for ticketed events.

Will act as cash custodian for the box office cash drawers.

On an as needed basis, acts as an Assistant Theater House Manager under the general supervision of the Theater Event Manager. These duties may include, but are not limited to:

Acts as the liaison between tenants, the general public, and PET to ensure that all requested services are supplied in a high quality manner.

Will assure that area set-ups are in accordance with tenant agreement, safety, fire and health code procedures. May direct and monitor work crew in the absence of directors/manager supervision.

Receive complaints from tenants and the general public and respond if possible, or refer them to the appropriate party.

Performs event settlements, if required.

May open and secure facility before and after scheduled events, or delegate to the appropriate party.

ABOUT YOU:

Education: High school graduation or equivalent AND

Experience: Three years of increasingly responsible experience in clerical work. Work experience must be appropriate to the position to be filled.

OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge: Considerable knowledge of modern office practices and procedures; considerable knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation; considerable knowledge of the specialized duties required by the position.

Skills: Skill in typing at 40 wpm and computer skills in Microsoft Office. Skill with computer databases and basic knowledge of software used throughout box office facilities. i.e. ticketing, signage, website, social media, etc.

Abilities: Ability to organize work priorities; ability to perform complex clerical work requiring moderate exercise of independent judgment; ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; ability to make mathematical computations rapidly and accurately; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments and the general public in a courteous, cooperative, and professional manner.

YOUR SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have a Utah Driver’s License and a good driving record. Must be adaptable to changing work hours depending on scheduled events. Must be willing to work evening, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Must have a cell phone which can be used for communication with other staff as needed.
