Boiler Operator Jobs

The Bear Island Mill is the newest addition to the Cascades Containerboard Packaging lineup. This state-of-the-art facility offer one of the lightest high-end, 100% recycled linerboard and medium products on the market.

The boiler operator joining the team should possess the following skills and adhere to these specifications:

• Follow all safety rules and standard operational procedures
• Observe and interpret readings on gauges, meters, and charts registering various aspects of boiler operation
• Monitor and inspect equipment, alarms, safety devices, and meters to detect leaks or malfunctions and to ensure that equipment is operating efficiently and safely
• Analyze problems and take appropriate action to ensure continuous and reliable operation of the powerhouse
• Attend and participate in daily crew meetings

• Manufacturing experience and powerhouse experience and consistent work history ideal
• Boiler license is ideal for position, or 3-5 years of related boiler experience - we are willing to offer the training & certification to the ideal candidate
• This job entails bending, walking, lifting, and climbing throughout the shift
• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 3-5 years related experience required
• Must show a commitment to an interdependent safety-first attitude
• Must be mechanically inclined and understand mechanical principles
• Ability to work independently and in a team empowerment culture
• Ability to communicate well with others and able to participate in team meetings
• Must be available for rotation shifts & overtime as needed
• Highly flexible with the ability to adjust to the demands of the job, produce high quality work, and can be depended on to complete assigned tasks. Must be a self-starter
