The City of Storm Lake has a current opening on the Board of Adjustment. The Board of Adjustment approves or denies variances of Storm Lake Zoning Regulations, and decides if special exception uses of property are acceptable. The board also hears appeals of people aggrieved by decisions of the zoning administrator and by decisions based on the Property Maintenance Code.

This is a volunteer board position. The Board of Adjustment meets on an as needed basis usually at 4:30 PM. Board of Adjustment members are appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Storm Lake City Council.

Qualifications

Board of Adjustment members must be citizens of the State of Iowa and a resident of the City of Storm Lake.
