Where SECC comes in
South Eastern Community Connect (SECC) is now looking for new Board Members to join its team.

About SECC
The mission of SECC is to support the community, and we’ve been doing this for over 45 years.
We provide services, programs and advocacy to people who need it most.
We eliminate barriers, enhance social inclusion, and improve quality of life for people across Sydney.
SECC supports residents of the following LGAs:
- Woollahra
- Randwick
- Campbelltown (SMOOSH OSHC program only)
- Waverley
- City of Sydney
- Bayside (formerly Botany)
- Canterbury-Bankstown (SMOOSH OSHC program only)
As the highest leadership body of SECC, the Board is responsible for:
- Ensuring strong fiduciary oversight and financial management
- Enhancing SECC’s public image
- Fundraising and resource development
- Assessing the Board’s own performance as the governing body of SECC.
- Selecting and evaluating the performance of the CEO
- Approving and monitoring SECC’s programs and services
- Strategic and organisational planning
Each individual board member is expected to:
- Know SECC’s mission, policies, programs, and needs
- Help identify personal connections that can benefit SECC’s fundraising and reputational standing, and influence public policy
- Faithfully read and understand SECC’s financial statements
- Leverage connections, networks, and resources to develop collective action to fully achieve SECC’s mission
- Prepare for, attend, and conscientiously participate in board meetings
- Know, understand and promote SECC’s mission.
- Participate fully in one or more committees at SECC
- Serve as an active advocate and ambassador for SECC and fully engage in identifying and securing the financial resources and partnerships necessary for SECC to advance its mission
