BMS Site Engineer
:
As a BMS Site Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of building automation and control systems at construction sites or existing buildings. Your role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful integration of control systems, adherence to project timelines, and optimal performance of building systems.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to control systems during the installation and commissioning phases.
- Monitor the performance of control systems and analyze data to identify opportunities for system optimization and energy conservation.
- Conduct system commissioning and testing to ensure proper functionality and alignment with design intent.
- Provide on-site technical support and training to maintenance teams and end-users on control system operation and maintenance.
- Collaborate with contractors and vendors to ensure timely procurement and installation of control system components.
- Assist in the implementation of control system upgrades, software updates, and improvements as required.
- Program and configure control systems using appropriate software and protocols to ensure accurate system operation.
- Create and maintain documentation including as built wiring diagrams and commissioning reports.
- Oversee the installation and wiring of control equipment, sensors, actuators, and related components according to project specifications and industry standards.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to manage timelines, budgets, and deliverables related to control system installations.
- Ensure compliance withNY safety regulations, codes, and industry standards during installation and commissioning activities.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to understand project requirements and integrate control system solutions into building designs.
Qualifications:
- Flexibility to work on construction sites and adapt to changing project demands.
- Knowledge of energy management practices and sustainability principles is beneficial.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field. Relevant technical certifications; N4, JCI etc.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and address technical issues effectively.
- Minimum 5 Years Prior experience as a controls technician, automation engineer, or similar role is advantageous.
- Solid understanding of building systems, control principles, and building automation technologies.
- Proficiency in programming languages and protocols used in control systems (e.g., BACnet, Modbus, LON).
- Hands-on experience with control system installation, wiring, and commissioning processes.
- Familiarity with control system software, Human-Machine Interface (HMI) applications, and SCADA systems.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with project teams, contractors, and end-users.
- Hands-on experience on JCI FX (Facility Explorer), Metacyst, Niagara Tools
