Mission Statement
Contributes to the success of Buckman’s product offerings through development of enzymatic technologies that create new and valuable outcomes for our customers. This position will primarily support Buckman’s Global Growth Strategy efforts as well as provide formulation support for continuous improvement efforts.
Outcomes
Leads and successfully develop innovative and differentiated technology throughout idea generation, rapid prototyping, lab and field testing, and commercial deployment to positively impact the customer experience and increase the adoption of Buckman’s solutions.
Successfully collaborate with external partners to ensure that Buckman’s business needs are met considering time, quality and cost.
Provides technical coaching to associates on enzymatic R&D areas and project facilitation to ensure that knowledge and practices are successfully shared and learned.
Proactively identifies and promotes innovative solutions that have a broad, organizational impact (e.g., profitability, sales, efficiency). Takes the initiative to learn innovative methods, tools, and technology and show others how they can be applied to work tasks.
Responsibilities
The design, characterization and evaluation of new products using traditional and new approaches targeting key markets
Understanding protein/enzyme structure / functionality relationships and design synthetic schemes to make these new molecules (DOE) utilizing state of the art benchtop techniques as well as computational methods.
Support formulation efforts for next-generation enzymatic technologies, including expression and characterization studies. To aid in the develop of enzymatic chemical and digitization solutions within the Buckman’s key industries.
Validate computational models experimentally and structure data to contribute to Buckman’s digital strategy
Work with other teams within Buckman to support their needs for new, high performance products
Main Success Metrics
Percentage complete of Key Performance Measures (KPMs) considering key measures of success.
Project completion (considering time, quality and cost).
Adoption and usage of new product chemistries at Buckman’s customer production facilities.
Minimum requirement to apply
Education and Experience Requirement
BSc in a biological, chemistry, chemical engineering or related discipline with 10 years of experience
MSc in a biological, chemistry, chemical engineering or related discipline with 5 years of experience
PhD (preferred) in biological, chemistry, chemical engineering or related discipline with 0-5 years of experience.
Preference given to candidates who have training or experience in data analytics and statistics
