Your Role

Biotech experience REQUIRED

We are seeking a Biotech Equity Research Analyst to provide financial, research, and operations support to the team. This position will work with the Chief Investment Officer on various research projects and investment evaluations. This role requires a collaborative cross-functional effort to drive key projects, an ability to multi-task, and efficient financial research and analysis that enables the group to meet objectives in an effective and efficient manner. This person will work in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment. To excel in this role, you need knowledge of corporate finance, investments, Excel data manipulation and modeling, and be very curious for research projects. If you are highly detail-oriented and capable of analyzing data with creativity and innovation in mind, you might be perfect for this position. Qualifications

  • Experience in Biotech required
  • Working knowledge of investment analysis, data manipulation, and utilizing databases
  • 2+ years of investment experience
  • Bachelor's degree with concentration in finance, accounting, or business-related field
  • Ability to read and interpret financial statements
  • Working knowledge of MS Office with proficiency in Excel, experience with Bloomberg a plus


Position Responsibilities

  • Perform deep fundamental equity research, sector research, and industry analysis in order to assess the viability of a company and determine its prospects. This requires reading company SEC filings, investment research reports, and industry and sector news to gather facts, rather than relying on opinions
  • Clearly present investment conclusions and recommendations to CIO and CEO. In order to be successful, this position requires significant independent thought to form well-founded investment opinions based on adequate, relevant, and verified data
  • Monitor investment reports, filings, news, and other material information for internal reporting
  • Spearhead implementation and ongoing management of portfolio reporting platform
  • Analyze financial data, perform ad hoc research and evaluations on a project-by-project basis
  • Internal reporting of holdings and the overall portfolio
  • Assemble and summarize data to structure reports on investment status and risks
  • Significant ability to balance multiple tasks at once as we are an active team and equity markets are dynamic
  • Provide analytical, forecasting, reporting, and project support to management
  • Create and maintain Excel models for financial and operational analysis
  • Support business development activities through various forms of due diligence

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel required)
  • Detail-oriented, highly motivated, and a self-starter


Job Type: Full-time


Pay: $120,000+ per year commensurate on experience

Bonus: Discretionary bonus
