, seeks to prevent, treat and cure cancers by linking scientific discovery, expert and compassionate patient care, quality education and partnership with the community guided by the principle of cura personalis – “care for the whole person.” Georgetown Lombardi is the research engine driving clinical cancer research at MedStar Health in the D.C. Metro area and northern New Jersey.
Job Overview
The Biostatistician, experienced in epidemic and population-based studies, supports several projects that address cancer control in the US and globally in responsibilities that include but are not limited to:
  • Written analysis reports
  • Analysis of data collected as a part of epidemiologic studies
  • Assistance with manuscript and grant writing
  • Data management
Work Interactions
Reporting directly to the project’s Principal Investigator within Cancer Prevention and Control, the Biostatistician works in teams with project coordinators, the study team, and co-investigators, interacts with colleagues at other universities.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience working with data that address cancer control in human populations
  • Knowledge of SAS and R statistical programming
  • Working knowledge of study design, including power calculations
  • Ability to work not only independently, but also as member of a team
  • Master’s degree or higher in biostatistics
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
