We are looking for a Billing Support Specialist II that will serve as an integral part of our Billing Operations and provide legendary customer service to ensure strong, long-lasting client relationships.

• Handles incoming calls from patients, insurance, and provider offices
• Verifies insurance eligibility electronically, as well as over the phone as needed
• Negotiates payoff deadlines or payment plans
• Investigates payer databases, searches for additional contact information and resolves discrepancies through various means (i.e. skip-tracing, phone contact, and internet search)
• Accurately completes data entry for new patient transports and updates patient accounts
• Follows-up and corrects insurance rejections

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
• Basic office knowledge of administrative functions, including scanning, faxing, and mailing
• Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
• Preferred knowledge of relevant legal requirements including HIPAA Compliance and Federal Debt Collection Practices Act
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask
• Understanding of the fundamentals of insurance requirements and Medicare
• Strong critical thinking, verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office
• Dependable attendance
• 1 year Medical billing, EMS billing or Fire billing customer service experience
• High School Diploma or GED required
