Job Description
Overview:
The growing office of Kaufman Dolowich LLP is seeking candidates with experience as a Billing Coordinator to join our dynamic team in our Philadelphia, PA office.

Job Summary:
Compiles, manages, and executes assigned attorney billing. May also perform a variety of other accounting and bookkeeping duties according to established policies and procedures. Maintains contact with attorneys, staff, vendors and clients and observes confidentiality of client and firm matters.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Review and verify accuracy of bills and supporting documentation as required.
  • Compile and process a high volume of attorney bills to clients on a monthly basis.
  • Research and respond to inquiries regarding e-bill issues and problems.
  • Ability to execute complex bills in a timely manner (i.e., preparation of electronic bills, split-party billing, etc.).
  • Create billing schedules and various other billing analyses as required.
  • Process write-offs following Firm policy.
  • Monitor e-bills to track the approval process.
  • Process appeals to bills as required.
  • Apply retainer funds as directed by attorney.
  • Review and edit pre-bills in response to attorney and secretary requests.
Qualifications:
  • Elite, Aderant, Coyote (or equivalent) legal accounting software experience.
  • EBillingHub, BillBlast experience is a plus.
  • Experience in a law firm and with insurance carriers is a plus.
  • Experience with multiple e-bill vendor systems along with client billing guidelines.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on billing experience.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail oriented with ability to effectively meet deadlines in a high-volume environment.
