Minimum qualifications:

  • Five (5) years of professional experience working with special populations in behavioral health, or intellectual/ developmental disabilities in adults and children
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Psychology, Counseling, Rehabilitation or Behavioral Analysis

Job description:

For individuals passionate for advocating on behalf of their fellow Coloradans with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As the Appointing Authority for the Behavioral Services line, this position provides supervision and direction to the Behavioral Services Site Directors at each of the three Regional Centers and maintains overall training, supervision, hiring/promotion/transfer, corrective and disciplinary actions, resolving informal grievances, and performance planning for the service line. In addition, this position is responsible for managing the allocated budget, strategic vision/plan, and bringing expertise to senior leadership conversations and decision making.

Furthermore, this position utilizes education and experience to:

  • Creates and provides competency based training based on best practices in behavioral interventions to staff, ensuring behavioral support is provided appropriately and effectively to the IDD population served at the Regional Centers.
  • Introduce and ensure best practices and national trends are being used in behavioral services programs across all three Regional Centers
  • Consult with the Regional Centers regarding systematic behavioral programs, plans and techniques
  • Coordinate and lead monthly meetings with behavioral staff from all Regional Centers aimed at training and staffing challenging situations.
  • Manage behavioral services outcomes across all three Regional Centers and based on those outcomes will introduce and implement programmatic changes. Provide direction on how behavioral supports are written and implemented by reviewing a sample of behavioral plans on a regular basis.
  • Write and maintain policies relating to behavioral services

The Division of Regional Centers (DRC) is responsible for the planning, coordination, monitoring, and execution of a multi-million dollar, federal and state funded service delivery system for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). DRC accomplishes this through policy management, regulatory compliance, and legislative initiatives.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $89,244.00 - $135,276.00 per year
