Job Details

The Behavioral Health Specialist (BHS) provides supportive, age-appropriate, trauma informed direct care to patients/families and functions under the direction of the Clinical Services Manager, Day Treatment. The BHS is responsible for psychosocial resource acquisition, safety monitoring, and case management tasks as assigned by the Behavioral Health Therapist. Responsibilities of the BHS also include the development and provision of therapeutic skills groups in collaboration with Behavioral Health Therapists, completion of clinical documentation of patient progress, contribution to individualized treatment plans, de-escalation, crisis intervention, and actively participating as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team. All direct care of behavioral health patients is based on established standards and licensure guidelines. The BHS demonstrates and models Dayton Children’s values through effective interaction with patients, families, and treatment team members while providing excellent care.
