JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:


The Penn State SIMBA Team is seeking an experienced SAP BASIS Administrator to manage and support the enterprise financial system for Penn State on SAP S/4HANA.The SAP Basis Administrator manages the daily operation, maintenance, and support of SAP Landscape. You will be part of a team managing the SAP systems in Microsoft Azure IaaS as well as private cloud in PSU data centers. This will include administration of SAP and associated third party applications, transport management (Charm + STMS), automation, security, application upgrades, and patches. A successful candidate will advise other IT staff and management on considerations for SAP infrastructure and provide guidance when planning deployments and upgrades for the SAP environment and supporting services. Creating and maintaining system documentation for all environments is required. Candidates must be able to work in a team environment, collaborating with other specialized staff and non-specialized staff to achieve goals and milestones.


Occasional night/weekend work will be necessary for patches/planned production outages. The location of this position is fully remote within the United States, standard working hours are in the eastern time zone. Candidates must be U.S. Citizens to apply.


In this role, you will:


  • Ensure proper operational support of systems and services
  • Create and/or improve technical documentation and internal knowledge-based articles.
  • Perform troubleshooting, error handling and problem resolution
  • Provide guidance to management and peers when planning deployments and upgrades for the environment and supporting services.
  • Monitor workload performance and ensure availability
  • Create, test, and plan disaster recovery for the SAP Landscape
  • Plan, prepare and install SAP and 3rd Party applications
  • Respond to and remediate system incidents
  • Advise other IT staff and management on considerations for SAP infrastructure
  • Engage with stakeholders through ServiceNow ticketing system


Education and experience:
  • Identify, download, and apply SAP patches
  • Perform SAP application and HANA upgrades
  • HANA DB administration
  • Correction and Transport System (CTS) + CHaRM
  • SAP Application installations, upgrades, patches, performance, and tuning
  • Recent experience in the following
  • Perform performance troubleshooting and help resolving SAP incidents.
  • Client maintenance (Opening/Copies/Cleanup)
  • 5+ years SAP BASIS experience on SAP S/4 is desired
  • All SAP Service MarketPlace tasks
  • Performance monitoring and tuning
  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree or higher and 4+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • SAP S/4 HANA administration


Preferred experience:


  • Troubleshoot SAP Applications: S/4, Fiori, GRC, Portal, Enable Now, PI/PO, BObj, BW
  • Perform maintenance and administration on ABAP and Java technologies
  • Perform routine performance checks.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to learn and communicate technical information
  • Maintain disaster recovery components of SAP
  • Maintain and configure high-availability environments.
  • Configure Solution Manager for several functions to maintain the SAP environment. Specifically ChaRM, LMDB, SLD, OSS, Alerts.
  • RHEL Linux familiarity
  • Experience performing and configuring HANA system backups, system replication
  • Experience in configuration, Integration of single sign-on, SSL certificates, SAP Web-Dispatcher.
  • Perform administration of SAP S/4 HANA, SAP Netweaver on RHEL Linux systems.
  • Provide recommendations on architecture and configuration
  • Create technical documentation and internal knowledge-based articles.
  • Migrating a SAP system from one VM to another
