We provide expert instruction and a full suite of administrative solutions in the service of athletes, teams, organizations, tournaments, and events.

EL1 is the proud youth baseball and softball training partner of Major League Baseball.


JOB SUMMARY

EL1 Tournaments is expanding into the Mid-Atlantic market, and we are looking for a Leagues & Tournaments Manager to help us launch our new brand in the Philly area. The Manager will be responsible for a variety of administrative, planning, scheduling, setup, and execution tasks related to our tournaments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage and lead all league & tournament operations duties including:

  • Umpire confirmation & assignment
  • Assist in enhancing social media presence (working with marketing on assets when needed)
  • Accounts receivable – track payments, follow up on outstanding league/tournament fees, etc.
  • Award procurement (trophies, banners, t-shirts) for events
  • Field procurement (including working with internal team on insurance needs for facilities)
  • Updating websites with league & tournament information, attendee lists, program information, etc.
  • Accounts payable – Work with the Finance team on field, umpire, awards (etc.) invoices
  • Serve as the on-site point of contact for league & tournament events as needed.
  • Tournament registration creation and tracking
  • Player & team recruiting for league & tournament events
  • Schedule creation, score recording, standings updates, etc.
  • Event promotion through all mediums (email, text, social media, print advertising, etc.)

Responsible for the budget and P&L for all Mid-Atlantic Tournament-related activities

Perform other related duties as necessary and assigned.

Requirements:
  • Positive mindset and attitude
  • Responsible, reliable, and punctual
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Some knowledge of office practices and procedures
  • Ability to effectively apply analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience managing day-to-day operations of running a league and/or tournament preferred
  • Ability to learn assigned tasks readily, adhere to prescribed routines, and develop some skills in the operation of common tournament practices
  • Good interpersonal skills and ease in relating to people from varying educational, cultural, and social backgrounds
  • Excellent customer service skills, as well as effective oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and passion for baseball, and/or softball preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office computer applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
