Baseball Athletic Trainer Jobs

Department of Athletics

Responsible for daily injury assessment, care, treatment, rehabilitation, and necessary medical referrals for all Baseball athletes. Provides medical coverage for all practices, regular season, and post-season home and away games. Responsible for daily operations of the Dick Howser Athletic Training Facility. Responsible for coordinating and scheduling post-COVID echocardiograms and communicating with hospital and vendor personnel. In charge of collecting and ensuring that results are given to the appropriate medical staff and doctors. Fielding questions about echocardiograms and establishing relationships with healthcare providers, ensuring that our student athletes and coaches get expedited care.

Responsible for sports medicine oversight of 1 certified athletic training intern or graduate assistant assigned to Men's Golf. Also responsible for direct supervision of all undergraduate athletic training students assigned to Baseball. Responsible for Powerade budgeting, ordering, and distribution for all sports.

Nike apparel manager, responsible for yearly ordering and distribution of all sports medicine attire, as well as inventory management.

Maintain working relationships and open communication with administration, sports medicine director, coaching staff, team physicians, and other outside healthcare professionals. Responsible for teaching and mentoring future athletic trainers, future physical therapists, and future medical doctors about how to treat and manage student athlete injuries. Instructing them on emergency action plans, utilizing modalities and other treatment techniques, preventative taping, rehabilitation techniques: all to take care of our student athletes and staff.

Coordinate and oversee medical coverage for all Men's Golf & Indoor Volleyball NCAA events hosted in Tallahassee.

Responsible for appropriate documentation of student-athlete medical records in Injury Zone and ensure all documentation is maintained in accordance with HIPAA, FERPA, State of Florida, and FSU Sports Medicine policies. Will maintain professional continuing education units and professional credentialing / licensing as outlined by the NATA and State of Florida laws.

Master's degree and one year of experience, or a Bachelor's degree and three years of experience. (Note: Post-high school education may substitute at the comparable rate.)

Licensed, Certified Athletic Trainer in good standing with the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.
CPR and First Aid Certified, or the ability to obtain prior to hire.

Experience working with NCAA Intercollegiate athletes.
