Job Description
Summary


Review background check screening to ensure cases are completed promptly and in compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Collect information and makes recommendations to adjudicate background check cases for final grading. Coordinate Form I-9 and E-Verify completion. Perform other HR compliance duties as assigned.

This role is onsite in Columbia, SC.


Work Environment


The work hours are Monday - Friday 8 AM – 5 PM.

Location: Clemson Rd. Columbia, SC (Onsite)


What You'll Do


  • Perform background check duties. Review cases to ensure timely completion and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Collect information needed to adjudicate background check cases for final grading. Conduct interviews with candidates to review potentially derogatory information for the pre-adverse action review process required by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Escalate cases as appropriate to ensure they are resolved timely. Make adjudication recommendations to HR management.
  • Research and respond in a timely and professional manner to employee, applicant, recruiter, and management inquiries in multiple department email boxes.
  • Provide additional compliance and audit support. Perform quality checks on internal processes. Gather requested background checks, evidence, and other information for internal and external audit responses. Research and communicate findings as appropriate. Perform other compliance-related responsibilities as requested.
  • Ensure new hires complete Form I-9 and Employment Eligibility Verification (E-Verify) by the federally mandated deadline. Assist with verifications by completing Section III of Form I-9. Provide access and trains other HR staff on the online I-9 and E-Verify systems. Coordinate I-9 completion for remote new hires.


To Qualify For This Position, You'll Need


  • Required Software and tools: Microsoft Office.
  • Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Required Work Experience: Two years experience in Human Resources.

  • General knowledge of various employment laws and practices.
  • Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion.
