Job Summary: Our company is seeking a highly skilled Azure Data Engineer to join our team. The Azure Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing data processing solutions using Azure data services and frameworks. The candidate should have subject matter expertise in integrating, transforming, and consolidating data from various structured, unstructured, and streaming data systems into a suitable schema for building analytics solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Optimize data pipelines for performance, reliability, and scalability
- Stay up-to-date with new Azure data services and frameworks, and identify opportunities for improving data processing solutions
- Implement security and compliance measures to protect sensitive data
- Create and maintain data models, schemas, and metadata to support data processing and analysis
- Monitor and troubleshoot operational and data quality issues
- Design, develop, and implement data processing pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Event Hubs, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure Databricks
- Participate in code and design reviews to ensure best practices are followed
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and data needs
- Develop and maintain ETL processes for data ingestion, cleansing, and transformation
Qualifications:
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience with data modeling and schema design
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a data engineer, preferably with experience using Azure data services and frameworks
- Experience with modern data warehouse (MDW), big data, or lakehouse architecture
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- Solid knowledge of data processing languages such as SQL, Python, and Scala
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong understanding of parallel processing and data architecture patterns
