At a Glance

The Advanced Analytics Engineer is responsible for completing projects that revolve around advanced analytics, automation, efficiency, machine learning, and performance improvements by combining data derived from the market and data from H&P Inc. The applicant should be able to independently answer a question using the entirety of the data analysis pipeline, including data extraction, data cleaning, model and feature selection, model comparison, data visualization, and oral presentation. Common functions include reporting, analytical processing, analytics, data mining, process mining, complex event processing, business performance management, benchmarking, predictive analytics, and prescriptive analytics.

What You Will Do

• Work as a tam or independently to organize data into useful one-pagers, reports, or datasets
• Present findings to stakeholders or the reporting team to publish reports to company portal
• Meet with internal and external stakeholders to understand business KPIs

What You Need

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science or Engineering strongly preferred.
• Capable of completing data analysis & providing solutions based on insights.
• Ability to solve difficult problems creatively.
• 5 years’ prior experience working in the oil and gas industry (or equivalent experience) preferred.
• Excellent presentation, communication and technical writing skills required.

• Advanced usage of Microsoft Office and capable within Data Analytics Programs such as SQL, R and Python.
• Willing to travel if necessary.

• A self-starter that has experience working independently and in team-oriented or collaborative environments.
• Proficient at time management with the ability to multitask and work on multiple projects at a time.

Not a must, but a plus

• Experience with Power BI, Azure, Databricks.
