Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: including but not limited to the following.
  • Works with Parts, Body Shop and other department teams to find ways to improve the overall profitability.
  • Monitor work in process system to ensure team is closing repair orders on a daily basis.
  • Handles customer complaints immediately and according to dealership's guidelines.
  • Develops implements and monitors goals and objectives for the departments and strives to meet them.
  • Keeps abreast of new equipment and tools available and recommends purchases.
  • Monitors the performance of the service department including working with Human Resources to review employee needs when necessary.
  • Makes customer satisfaction a department priority, ensuring that personnel are courteous and respectful in their interaction with customers.
  • Helps develop dealership service and parts pricing plans with the fixed ops management team.
  • Works with Human Resources to establish and maintain good working relationships with vocational and technical schools to enhance personnel recruitment activities.
  • Maintains high-quality service repairs and minimizes comebacks.
  • Strives for harmony and teamwork within the department and with all other departments.
  • Trains, motivates, and monitors the performance of the entire service team.
  • Conducts periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality.
  • Holds daily and weekly team meetings.
  • Administers warranty claims, reviews warranty policy adjustments, understands and applies warranty guidelines, ensures correct processing of claims, and communicates warranty information and clarifications to customers.
  • Maintains a professional appearance.
  • Maintains safe work environment.
  • Serves as liaison with factory representatives.
  • Understands and ensures compliance with manufacturer warranty and policy procedures.
  • Ensure any policy charge variations are approved
  • Establishes and maintains good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business.
  • Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect repair operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Fosters professional employee development and coordinates with team to determine need for advanced training.
Skills, Abilities and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in English. Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification preferred. Workplace Hazardous Materials. Manufacturer Training. Valid Driver's License.
