Our client has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry and is one of the leading advisory firms in Malta. They specialize in offering financial and fiduciary services to both local and international clients, with a focus on trust formation, administration, management, and consultancy.
An exciting opportunity now exists to join this established company, on a full-time, permanent basis as an Audit Manager
The successful candidate will lead the Audit team, ensure all client requirements are met, and further develop the department to greater success.
Duties & Responibilities

• Planning Audit projects and ensuring adequate resources are allocated to the projects
• Ensuring that all Audit staff are well trained and mentored
• Delivering accounting and auditing training in the training programmes organised by the firm
• Actively participating with the audit partner in the optimization of the client portfolio
• Holding meetings with clients to discuss audit findings and conclusions
• Continuously building and maintaining effective working relationships with audit clients
• Managing multiple projects, through the management of a team of audit staff
• Applying audit standards through practical application
• Adhering to the firm’s processes for audit client acceptance and continuance
• Engaging throughout audit processes, acting as a point of reference for the team and guiding accordingly
• Monitoring client service standards and taking action to improve audit quality service
• Providing Audit and Financial Reporting services to different entities operating within various industries
• Providing technical knowledge, direction and training to audit staff
• Ensuring that the Audit team meets deadline requirements and to the full satisfaction of client requirements
• Supporting Audit Partners in day-to-day activities

REQUIRED SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES:

• Advanced working knowledge of MS Excel software
• Experience using SAGE and XERO accounting software packages would be an asset
• Strong team player
• Possess a high level of technical expertise in audit, as well as other areas within accounting, finance and technology
• Good problem solving and motivational abilities
• Excellent communication skills with a high level of fluency in English, both written and verbal
• Highly knowledgeable in IFRSs, GAPSME and ISAs
• Good knowledge of Tax and VAT
• Highly motivated with excellent attention to detail
• Leadership skills and the ability to manage audit teams

ACADEMIC AND EXPERIENCE:

• Fully qualified and warranted Accountant
• At least 4 years’ experience in an audit focused role, ideally at Senior level
