Job Description

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Under supervision of the Head, Assistant Head, and Leads of the Audio Department, the Audio Technician will collaborate with other theatrical departments during the performances, rehearsals, and/or maintenance work with the goal of presenting an entertainment experience beyond our guest’s expectations.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform other job-related duties as requested
  • Maintain a flexible schedule for work calls, special events, rehearsal/training, maintenance and evening show performances
  • Maintain a safe working environment at all times by conforming to all established safety policies and procedures; participate in all required safety classes and emergency rescue procedure training
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts and equipment for timely repair of audio system equipment
  • Run audio department cue tracks operating and troubleshooting audio, RF, video, communication equipment, computer network and systems as directed for performances, artist training, and maintenance
  • Participate in special projects including the installation of new audio show elements
  • Develop thorough knowledge of all audio department equipment specific to the production in order to operate equipment safely

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts
  • Proficient in repairing audio, RF, video, communications and computer networking
  • Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to company standards
  • Basic knowledge of computer software to include Outlook, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as office equipment, i.e. telephone, copier, fax machine
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Three (3) years of in-depth experience as a professional audio technician with a large-scale production
  • Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays
  • High school diploma or equivalent

PREFERRED:

  • Electronics training and audio equipment repair skills
  • Experience working in a similar resort setting
  • In good standing with IATSE Local 720
