The Opportunity

The Visual Design team works effectively and efficiently to deliver a best in-class marketing solution to our customers, from bringing their existing marketing to life to developing new materials that help elevate their brand. We're looking for a designer to join the Visual Design team with an ability to think creatively through problems and work across a variety of coding languages and platforms to find innovative solutions for our customers. You should be comfortable explaining your thought process and able to receive feedback from your peers. You will be a part of a diverse and driven team that challenges each other to create and maintain the quality marketing standards our customers have come to expect across emails, websites, and documents.

How You'll Contribute at Buildout

• Be welcomed into the innovative and collaborative Buildout team. Get to know your teammates and work in sync to deliver a world-class, end-to-end customer experience
• Provide proactive solutions to our customers' marketing problems that help ensure their long-term success using the application
• Creating sample marketing materials for prospective customers
• Take the work, but not yourself, seriously
• Use Buildout's proprietary tools to customize and update marketing documents, emails, and web materials to align with customers' use cases
• Partner with other teams at Buildout, primarily those in the Revenue Dept, to understand customers' needs in order to deliver timely marketing solutions within Buildout's platform
• Make mistakes, improve for the next time, and develop enviably thick-skin from these experiences to propel you through the rest of your career, at Buildout and beyond
• Support our pre-sale processes which can include:
• Getting on calls with our Sales team and prospective customers to discuss capabilities of the application or their specific brand needs

What You'll Bring to Buildout

• Convey complex ideas in simple terms
• Commercial Real Estate experience is nice to have but not required
• Empathy and solutions-oriented. You're able to put yourself in the customers' shoes, understand their needs and goals, and offer solutions that will drive them forward
• Discuss unique brand and marketing needs
• Experience with HTML & CSS coding on an established platform
• Willingness to engage with customers directly to:
• 2+ years of experience working as a Graphic Designer, Web Developer, or Email Designer
• A portfolio of varied design projects which demonstrates a strong eye for design and ability to adhere to brand standards
• Ability to balance working as an individual contributor and as part of a team, while proactively seeking opportunities for improvement
• Reduce thrash and help resolve problems quickly
• Javascript experience is a plus but not required
• Support internal teams' ability to service our customers

We are based in Chicago, but this is a remote-friendly role open across most of the US. The salary range for this position is $49,300 - $66,700 depending on your experience.
