Job Description

Job Summary

This opportunity is part of the Global Technology Commercial Products & Platforms team where our vision is to develop technology that delight our customers and enable our crews to operate our restaurants reliably and effectively.

The Associate Tech Lead, Decisioning is responsible for delivering engineering outcomes with key partners and integrations within the context of our decisioning and product recommendation Engagement capabilities. They operate within the triad construct and report to the Tech Lead, Campaigns & Decisioning, and are accountable for driving a performant and maintainable architectural integration while liaising between engineering squads and vendor technical points of contact on a day-to-day basis. They partner closely with product and data teams to leverage vendor capabilities across our digital products and platforms in ways that engage and delight our customers.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Answer technical questions from the squads and stay accountable for technical solutioning
  • In partnership with VMO, manage the performance and reliability of external systems and third-party squads to ensure they meet the standards required by McD
  • Ensure integrations are aligned with architecture standards for resiliency and security
  • Participate in squad ceremonies for their product domain and liaise with third-party engineering teams to map dependencies, align requirements, and define shared implementation details
  • Partner with PM (in a Product squad) to participate in the entire lifecycle of the backlog grooming process
  • Accountable for deployment of new features including QA, push to production and defect remediation
  • Partner with data teams to leverage vendor capabilities for decisioning and recommendations
  • Maintain documentation standards for the adoption and operationalization of third-party software and relevant integrations
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications & Experience

  • Communication skills with ability to explain complex technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders
  • Knowledge of infrastructure and architecture
  • 2+ years experience working in a software development environment as an engineer, data analyst, or data product manager
  • Experience in Agile Development, application of Agile techniques and delivery practices
  • Software development experience, with knowledge of developer workflows, processes, and tools
  • Experience partnering with stakeholders across an at-scale, complex, global matrixed org setup a plus
  • Working understanding of latest development technologies
  • Working knowledge of best practices in code refactoring, design patterns, design-driven development, continuous deployment, scalable applications, and application security
