We are currently seeking an Associate Sports Director to work at the Richardson YMCA who, under the supervision of the Sports Director, will provide support as assigned in order to ensure the effective administration of sports programs. This person will assist the Sports Director as assigned in the following ways:
- Facilitate scheduling staff and payroll
- Work with the other Directors on scheduling programs for maximum use of the facilities
- Plan, organize, promote, implement, and evaluate sport programs
- Share in the responsibility of cleanliness, maintenance, field and gym preparation and safety of equipment and facilities.
- Keep accurate records essential for the control, evaluation, and reporting of programs to Association, the Board of Management, and the District Executive Director
- Recruit, train, supervise, evaluate and recognize part-time staff and program volunteers within accordance of policies set by the Association
He/she will develop and maintain timely and accurate information for Association brochures and develop additional promotional materials and social medium communication for all sports programs as needed. The Associate Sports Director will participate in association-wide activities, as requested and assigned by the Sports Director or District Executive Director - Sports and will serve as ambassador for the YMCA, establishing and maintaining cordial relationships and collaborations with other agencies and community groups. The incumbent will oversee maintenance of equipment and inventory control of program supplies, will participate on staff committees as assigned and attend staff meetings and trainings as required. He/she will assure that all staff under the incumbents' indirect supervision in the Sports Department understand and comply with all personnel and other policies established by the Association. As a member of the professional staff, this person will share responsibility for the administration of the overall branch and will support branch Annual Campaign as assigned. He/she will perform other job-related duties as requested and necessary.
- The incumbent is frequently required to stand and walk.
- High school diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Must have a basic understanding of the management of facilities, equipment, and programs.
- Currently hold or obtain all trainings and certifications required by YMCA guidelines for this position.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Must be able to work with members, volunteers, staff and vendors.
- Must have visual, hearing and physical dexterity to substitute as a sports referee.
- Physically able to move freely throughout the facility and other program sites and the ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Must be able to speak and write clearly and articulate accurate information.
- Strong or general knowledge of soccer, baseball, basketball, football, volleyball, and other sports.
- Candidates should have experience in Physical Education, Recreation, or related field.
- The incumbent will be required to work evenings and weekends as assigned when programs or related functions occur.
- Current driver's license with acceptable record and vehicle liability insurance.
- Must be able to drive to multiple locations as needed on practice nights and game days.
- The Associate Sports Director should have good interpersonal skills and a cordial manner.

Pay Rate: $42,000 if annualized
