Functional area: Operations & Maintenance

Remuneration: Exempt

The Associate Site Operator will be responsible for supporting the daily operation, planned and corrective maintenance, and grounds keeping functions of a renewable energy (solar/wind/battery storage) project. They will be responsible for ensuring all tasks and activities in the region are performed in accordance with industry best practices, industry best safety practices, RWE Clean Energy procedures, plans, and guidelines as well as all pertinent laws and regulations.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plant Operations – Support production of renewable energy at all plants in the region, ensuring that plants operate within design parameters in a reliable, safe, and efficient manner. Perform warehouse duties including shipping and receiving as assigned.
  • Plant Maintenance- Repair and maintain plant components; troubleshoot and resolve problems that may arise. Perform preventive/predictive maintenance to ensure long term profitability, plant reliability and risk minimization.
  • Maintain grounds at site including custodial activities, landscaping, and debris removal.
  • Technical Expertise – Train with site operations personnel to achieve level of competence required to operate and maintain the renewable energy facility.
  • General – Manage contractors as required, act as local RWE Clean Energy liaison. Perform like duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (minimum)

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year in field construction, operations or related field experience preferred but not required
  • Prior experience utilizing field mobile maintenance equipment such as, tractor, forklift, trencher, etc.

Job Skills:

  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Driver’s license required
  • Demonstrated above average communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines
  • Pushing/pulling/lifting tools and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Walking/climbing/standing extensively during the workday

Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in California is $53,388 to $80,082. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
