Associate Scientist, Downstream Process Development

As the Associate Scientist, Downstream Process Development, you will work under the direction of the Senior Scientist of Downstream Process Development. You will be responsible for the development, optimization, characterization, scale-up and technical transfer of GMP-compliant manufacturing processes for recombinant viral vectors. This position requires broad scientific understanding and hands-on execution of a variety of downstream, harvest and purification unit operations, with a focus on depth and membrane filtration and TFF. In this role you will be expected to work independently on assigned tasks/projects and communicate results to your supervisor and management.
What you’ll be doing
•Contributes to the development of robust, high-yielding, scalable and economically viable purification processes for the production of AAV products using bench scale and pilot scale disposable downstream equipment
•Contributes to experimental design
•Executes experiments and contributes to data analysis and interpretation
•Contribute to process scale-up and support GMP operations through technology transfer and process troubleshooting
•Contributes to the evaluation and implementation of new methods, techniques, equipment and technology platforms
•Coordinates with relevant groups in technical operations and research and development
•Performs standard analytical methods to characterize biologics - HPLC, SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, protein assays, spectrophotometer.
•Active participation in daily maintenance of laboratory equipment
