Associate Project Manager, Boston Corporate Office - Boston, MA


Job Summary


The IT Associate Project Manager helps run projects with our mission: to plan with care, consideration, and compassion. This position works cross-functionally with the IT Service Center, project teams, and company to create project plans, coordinate tasks and schedules, identify and help teams avoid risk, and assist with a successful project lifecycle. In addition, the Project Manager helps provide an audit trial and internal controls, and helps identify value chains, which define where priorities should be due to risk and cost savings.


Supervision Received: This role reports to the Director of Digital Transformation within the IT Service Center.


FLSA Status: Exempt


Location: Corporate Office (Boston) or neighboring states. Hybrid preferred


Essential Job Accountabilities


  • Document project results, evaluate project effectiveness, and conduct lessons learned sessions to ensure continuous improvement in how we run and complete our projects
  • Identify and document project scope and objectives, following up as needed to ensure they are achieved
  • Meet and work with subject-matter experts, vendors, consultants, working groups, etc. to help develop the roles and responsibilities of the project team to enhance performance
  • Help drive projects forward by maintaining focus and visibility, while proactively eliminating barriers to ensure projects are completed on time and meet quality standards
  • Liaise and partner with the Business Analyst to ensure business requirements are addressed and incorporated within a project
  • Create project plans and/or RAID documents that include milestones, schedules, budget, and an explanation of the responsibilities of each team member
  • Coordinate schedules, monitor/track the progress of projects and report on their performance/status,
  • Coordinate and/or facilitate working group, subcommittee, and project meetings, including the creation of agendas
  • Help identify value chains and where priorities should be due to risk and cost savings, including documenting improvement costs, time, and Return On Investment (ROI)
  • Problem and conflict resolution: Know when to escalate points for quick resolution and help avoid delays in delivery
  • Identify project management processes, procedures, and documentation (e.g., templates) that can be standardized and shared cross-functionally within IT and other service centers
  • Coordinate and oversee projects within our IT Department that impact departments, service centers, and/or properties within our company
Qualifications:


  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and execute assigned tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to learn, build upon current skills, and open to feedback
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Ability to travel to visit properties
  • Not required, but a plus: Experience with change management and project management methodologies, including, but not limited to, stakeholder analysis, risk analysis, resource planning and allocation, budget creation, value chain identification, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, relatable, able to show empathy towards others
  • Ability to facilitate and support cross-functional and complex teams
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills with strong attention to detail
Education and Certifications:


  • 0-3 years project management experience
  • A Bachelor's Degree
  • 2-3 years business experience
