Job Description

Precipart, located in Farmingdale, NY, is searching for an Associate Project Engineer to assist in the development of engineering solutions that support business growth. In this position, you will be part of a cross functional team working on assigned tasks as they relate to customer and manufacturing requirements. This is a great opportunity for a recent college graduate to apply the foundations of engineering to work towards a project management role while gaining exposure to the Medical, Aerospace, and Industrial segments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a member of the project management team, your primary role is focused on new business opportunities. You will act as the liaison between customers and manufacturing partners in support of new product introduction (NPI).

  • Performing engineering reviews on new opportunities and working closely with our manufacturing partners on any design/specification constraints while capturing customer expectations.
  • Uphold company s high standard of quality. Address, contain and resolve all quality issues expeditiously and effectively.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, manufacturing partners, and internal team members.
  • Work in a team environment to review new business opportunities, designs and customer specifications.
  • Perform baseline contract review on the purchase order to ensure all aspects of the manufacturers quote and customer quote are addressed.
  • Occasional review of manufacturing data including, but not limited to in process data and first article reports.
  • Provide comprehensive RFQ s to manufacturing and feedback in response to customer inquiries.
  • Responsible for conforming with the company s quality management system requirements, as well as contributing to its overall effectiveness, and the ultimate goals of customer satisfaction, product compliance and ethical practices/behavior.
  • Maintain accurate records of requirements and RFQ status, as it pertains to assigned projects, and correspondence in company databases.
  • Function as backup to other project team members on customer and maintenance issues.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel
  • No previous experience required (internship preferred)
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Must have completed at least one internship or co-op while working towards their Bachelor's degree. In a relevant industry preferred.
  • Detail oriented, highly organized, and able to multitask under pressure
  • Strong communication skills
  • Travel: 5%
  • Bachelor s degree in mechanical, biomedical, aerospace, or similar engineering discipline
  • Ability to contribute in a team environment, but also take lead in a meeting and drive open actions to completion.
