Role Overview

Associate Principals are integral members of our firm’s leadership team, contributing to firm building efforts while managing 1-2 consulting engagements at a time. Engagements typically span 3-6 months in duration and are supported by teams of ~2-4 Consultants and driven by an Engagement Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Draw upon healthcare knowledge, trends, and experiences to highlight relevant implications for clients, especially around strategies to improve the quality of care delivered to members, while managing both clinical and administrative costs in an effective way
  • Further develop frameworks and approaches to build strategic roadmaps, establish business cases, mobilize programs, and produce turnkey deliverables
  • Proactively work to create an energizing team environment
  • Create sophisticated, compelling communications that motivate clients to action
  • Contribute to firm initiatives focused on talent (e.g., recruiting, training), knowledge (e.g., IP development, white papers) and other core areas
  • Apply thought leadership to client engagements, generating actionable strategic insights that drive meaningful improvement for the firm’s clients, developing new frameworks and approaches with broad potential impact
  • Act as a coach and mentor to junior staff, rapidly developing their skills and knowledge through an apprenticeship-based development model
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and team development
  • Lead the problem-solving process and day-to-day management of engagement teams, including overseeing teams’ analysis and deliverables, often in the context of larger, more complex engagements.
  • Build and maintain client relationships drawing upon healthcare knowledge and insights to address issues within and beyond the scope of specific consulting engagements
  • Help build the firm’s portfolio of business through support of client proposals, participation in industry events, and other marketing activities
  • Facilitate work group discussions with client executive and stakeholders

Qualifications and Desired Skills
  • Superior communicator able to convey insights in a way that motivates clients to action
  • Passion for materially improving the delivery and administration of healthcare in the world
  • At least 8 years working with healthcare providers on strategic and/or operational initiatives, including 3+ years managing others
  • Flexibility to travel as required
  • Strong entrepreneurial drive
  • Advanced degree preferred (e.g., MBA, MPH)
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Strong people leader, adept at managing team’s work while developing colleagues’ capabilities
  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills

Salary range: $169,000- $200,000, plus may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications, practice area, and other business and organizational needs.
