Responsibilities:

The COO Organization/Business Management team contributes directly to the business development and its sound operation. They also facilitate and optimize the interaction between the Front Office and its Business Partners.

The Transversal Business Manager/COO will be part of this COO Organization. He/she will report directly to the Head of Transversal Business Management in Americas, and be part of the Global Markets Business Management team.

The role is to cover all COO-related aspects required to support the Global Markets Platform transversally.


Responsibilities include:


Identify, lead and/or contribute to transversal business projects for GM Americas:

  • Sample of projects: drive improvements to HC forecasting tool (HEAT), contributor to IT Infrastructure projects (O365 deployment, IT Obsolescence, LATAM infrastructure…), GM Americas Operation Level Up (Operational Excellence stream)…
  • Promote when relevant the standardization of practices across and play an active role in sharing Best Practices within Global Markets.
  • In coordination with other teams, identify improvement areas within the organization/setup, define and implement solutions to streamline the relevant processes.
  • Follow up and coordinate the portfolio of transversal business initiatives.
  • Assist management and project sponsors, help them to drive business projects and ensure that all the necessary actors are involved when required.


Contribute to GM Americas Management performance and management indicators:

  • Coordinate and contribute to the reporting required by the regional or global Management (Territory ExCo, Global GM ExCo, business deep-dives…).
  • Build and/or coordinate the development of these MIS / KPI, in liaison with the relevant departments, and ensure that these are produced systematically, accurately and regularly.
  • Produce ad-hoc analysis of the activity according to management requirements.
  • Work closely with MO P&L and Finance teams to ensure quality of GMA P&L Report (Official and Predict).
  • Jointly with the Management, define the MIS / KPI required to monitor the business activities and drive the strategy/vision.


Coordinate the GM Americas budget process (headcount, revenue, cost…).

  • Perform ad-hoc analysis required by the Trading ExCo pertaining to the Trading COO’s mandate.
  • Coordinate the regular Trader Reviews, incl. production of traders’ KPIs.
  • Produce the supporting material required for the regional Trading ExCo.


Act as Business Manager for the GM Transversal departments (Quantitative Research & Lab, eC&D, TR2S, GMA Management)

  • Maintain the accurate HC trajectory for these departments, as well as overall AATP program (incl. interns) across GM.
  • Support Transversal Managers on business topics/issues including operations, IT, Finance, Tax, Regulatory framework, Legal or compliance, etc.
  • Lead and coordinate the budget and forecasting process for these departments.
  • Handle the seating arrangements/needs for these transversal teams.
  • In partnership with the Transversal Managers, analyze, control and optimize the cost in these departments to remain within budget.
  • Assist in troubleshooting major/crisis situations and leverage on the organization to solve issues.


Contribute to a robust GM Americas Control framework

  • Active contribution to the Trading Portfolio and Trading Mandates local and global governance, incl. periodic reviews of Information Barriers.
  • Contribution to Internal and/or External Audits where applicable.
  • Active contribution to remediation tasks where applicable.
  • Work with CCCO and Risk ORC teams to improve operational resiliency of GM Platform.
  • Operational Resilience
  • Improve the Trading KYC and sanctions pre-execution control framework
  • Improve the Broker KYC re-certification process in partnership with CIB Procurement


Contribute to GM Americas e-Trading and market integrity BAU Governance

  • Work in close partnership with CCCO and Compliance to ensure proper governance and adherence to local rules related to electronic trading and electronic venues.
  • Sample of initiatives/rules: e-Venues governance, e-Venues recordkeeping, bot/algo approval governance, adherence to 15c3-5 rule, Market Limits Utilizations, Best Ex Governance, ATS Governance…


Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in contributing and coordinating financial budgets.
  • Solid experience in data visualization and building complex dashboards.
  • Project management and business analysis skills with an outstanding record of accomplishment.
  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience in a large bank or similar organization in a COO/Business Management capacity and/or IT Project Management/Business Analysis environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in handling and analyzing complex set of data.
  • Good knowledge of GM products and market structures.
  • Experience in improving operational resiliency and front-office control frameworks.

  • Experience in trading-related projects (risk management, P&L).
  • Experience in Tableau/PowerBI would be an advantage.
  • Experience with electronic trading venues (onboarding, trading protocols…).

The expected starting salary range for this position in the Philadelphia region is between $85,000 to $105,000 annually. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic/office location.
