With the recent FDA approval of Adstiladrin® (nadofaragene firadenovec-vncg), Ferring is building a commercial and medical Uro-Oncology team.  We are looking for candidates who share our passion and dedication to help people live better lives.  Adstiladrin®, a novel adenovirus vector-based gene therapy is the first gene therapy approved by the FDA for bladder cancer.  Our team comprises passionate, driven, and collaborative individuals who are united in their commitment to deliver a new standard of care to patients, living with high-grade, non-muscle invasive bladder cancer with or without papillary tumors, who are unresponsive to BCG – an area of critical unmet need.

The Associate Director, Patient Access will manage day to day patient access strategy and operations for Ferring with a focus on Adstiladrin (Uro/Oncology) and expanding to other products over time.  The Associate Director will support the Sr. Director, Patient Access on patient access strategy, Field reimbursement management (coding and claim approval support) plans and patient affordability programs.  Primary lead all day to day operations of the hub post launch.  Duties will include overseeing hub vendors and outsourced Field Reimbursement team, ensuring all KPIs are met or exceeded, anticipating/identifying/resolving potential operational challenges, overseeing accurate and timely reporting of results, monitoring program budgets, and ensuring all legal, regulatory and pharmacovigilance requirements are being met.  Associate Director will also interact regularly with brand teams and other internal functional areas including finance, legal, safety, quality, training and others as needed.

Responsibilities:  

  • Program development:  Lead day to day operations of the Adstiladrin patient access programs (hub; FRM support and patient affordability).  Ensure that all program operations are running smoothly and in accordance with program business rules and all safety, legal and regulatory requirement.  Collaborate with vendor to update business rules as appropriate.
  • Vendor management:  Serve as primary liaison between Ferring and hub vendor.  Anticipate and address program challenges.  Work closely with vendor to track and meet or exceed all program KPIs including call volumes, wait times, benefits investigation turnaround times.
  • Reporting:  Work with hub vendor and data management to ensure that all key hub data is reported on time and accurately through the data portal.  Develop and distribute summary reports to key Ferring colleagues on a regular basis.  Work with vendor to prepare ad hoc reports as needed.
  • Pharmacovigilance:  Collaborate with vendor and Ferring safety team to ensure that all adverse events (AEs) and product complaints are reported at the right time in accordance with Ferring guidelines.  Serve as point person for Safety team for any data requests related to AEs or to help coordinate and required audits of hub vendor.
  • Patient affordability program:  Develpo patient affordability strategy for co-pay; foundation support and patient assistance programs.  Oversee operations for patient affordability program for products available through the hub.  Coordinate enrollment through the hub.  Develop and update program enrollment forms.  Serve as key liaison with program vendors.  Ensure timely reporting of key patient affordability program data, and that all program KPIs are met or exceeded.  Collaborate with brand team to develop program offers.
  • Budgeting:  Support Patient Access Sr. Director with developing, maintaining and meeting all program budget requirements.  Assist with forecasting.  Provide Sr. Director with timely alerts regarding potential budget overages.
  • FRM:  Support Patient Access Sr. Director with management of outsourced Field Reimbursement Specialist team.  Maintain open lines of communication between FRM team and Hub as appropriate.
  • Support Sr. Director, Patient Access on new program launches.  Assist with RFPs as required.  Provide input to strategic planning for new hubs and developing key requirements for new programs.

 

Requirements: 

  • Understanding of coding associated with claims reimbursement
  • Ability to advance and complete projects on time and within budget
  • Ability to work cross-functionally as need to achieve desired results
  • Anticipate and address challenges to ensure smooth operations of hub services
  • BA/BS degree
  • Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently in a collaborative manner
  • Understanding of legal/regulatory/compliance requirements with hubs
  • 7+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, or experience with a Hub service provider
  • Demonstrated depth with reimbursement support services and hubs
  • Strong business acumen and patient focus
  • Familiarity with patient assistance (free medicine) programs
  • Experience working with or managing Field Reimbursement Specialists
  • Familiarity with buy and bill process
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
