Department: Health Sciences

Position: Associate Director of Nursing Admissions, Enrollment, Management, and Communication, Administrator IV

Position Description: Under the direct supervision of the Chairperson for the Department of Health Sciences, the Associate Director of Nursing Admissions, Enrollment Management, and Communication manages all aspects of the admissions process and services related to the enrollment of students in all nursing programs; uses data and reporting to meet accreditation requirements and inform decision making; and develops and disseminates all internal and external print and digital communications for the Department of Health Sciences. Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborates with nursing program directors to represent the nursing program at university events such as open house, majors fair, accepted student’s day, transfer student orientation, new student orientation, and other related events;
  • Provides real-time information to prospective and continuing students and members of the University community on nursing program admissions criteria, program requirements, and nursing curriculum updates;
  • Plans, develops, and directs admission cycles, documents, and processes for all nursing degree programs and certificates (B.S., RN-BSN, ACE, MSN, Ed.D.);
  • Assists with collection of data and generates reports and presentations for the Department of Health Sciences related to accreditation requirements;
  • Manages data, generates reports, and leads research efforts related to marketing, recruitment, enrollment, retention, program progression, and other related outcome measures for students in all of the nursing programs;
  • Attends admissions and nursing-based conferences, workshops/webinars, and maintains memberships in appropriate higher education and nursing organizations;
  • Establishes and maintains close working relationships with the University Admissions Office, academic deans, department chairs, faculty advisors, and other appropriate offices;
  • Collaborates with the Department Chairperson and program directors to evaluate program needs as they relate to students support, program enhancement, and academic success;
  • Develops, delivers, and provides access to orientation materials and informational sessions for students and faculty to remain informed about program expectations, requirements, and progression;
  • Design, implement, and establish supportive programming for current and prospective students to increase enrollment, diversity, academic success, and program outcomes using evidence-based practice and admissions data;
  • Supports nursing program directors and clinical team members with development, coordination, and oversight of programs and activities related to on-boarding new students and celebrating accomplishments;
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities related to those described above which do not alter the basic level of responsibility of the position.
  • Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of best practices in nursing admissions, enrollment management, and communication. Implements best practices and operations and develops long-term strategies for overall growth and effective targeted outreach to and recruitment of underrepresented, diverse, populations;
  • Supervises university assistants and student workers;
  • Maintains student information, admission files, and progression requirements as it relates to required items for program accreditation;
  • Coordinates with the University Integrated Communication & Marketing (ICM) department to provide up-to-date external and internal communication about the nursing programs through university website, print materials, displays, social media, and other modalities;
  • Coordinates with the University Admissions Office and nursing faculty and staff to develop, implement, and disseminate information for recruitment of first-year students, graduate students, and transfer students for all nursing programs;
  • Collaborates with nursing faculty and staff to identify and apply for external funding to support nursing students’ academic success including enrollment and graduation of underrepresented and diverse populations;

Qualifications: Required: Master’s degree in one of the disciplines represented in the College of Health and Human Services or related field; minimum of four years of experience within higher education admissions/enrollment management; strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem solving skills; strong organizational and project management skills; strong presentation, written, and oral communication skills; evidence of production of accurate, effective, and visually pleasing print and digital content; demonstrated competency with using software to create print and digital content; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all constituent groups including prospective students; demonstrated effectiveness in working collaboratively as a member of a team; strong interpersonal skills and capacity for building partnerships.

Preferred: Experience in using enrollment management, content management, and project management software such as Banner, Salesforce/TargetX, MyEmma, Confluence, Jira, or other products; experience generating and using data to inform decision making; experience leading, managing, and supervising employees.
