Ciltacabtagene autoleucel (cilta-cel/JNJ-4528) is Janssen’s novel, cell therapy treatment whereby a patient’s immune cells are collected, shipped to the manufacturer, and genetically modified to be reinfused as a drug product into the patient. CAR-T requires a high degree of coordination across Supply Chain/Commercial organizations and the hospital administering this treatment.

This job may require you to flex to support other Oncology products and/or other therapeutic areas who need patient support program management.

Overview

At Janssen Oncology, we are raising the bar on customer experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Our patient support specialist team supports eligible cancer patients and their caregivers through their CAR-T journey. We are deeply committed to providing patients/caregivers with an exceptional service experience, so they are well-positioned for treatment and to receive care.

The Associate Director will play a critical role in supporting continued development, testing and management of the program’s technology solutions suite used by providers and patients through their journey in the program. This position will drive growth by proactively leading insight generation, data analytics, management, and governance in addition to reporting regarding program performance and patient / provider experience to inform program strategy and continuous enhancement. This position will ensure efficient delivery of program support to patients through an effective training strategy for call center team and program governance including quality assurance and compliance with program rules. The Associate Director is a member of a cross-matrix team that will be responsible for management of external vendor partners and collaboration with internal brand and IT partners to drive a positive patient experience throughout their Janssen CAR-T journey.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Promote a culture of data-driven decision making to support program strategy and evolution through analytics and insights, including processes to support ad hoc data requests
  • Lead ongoing conversations with the IT team to ensure appropriate maintenance of technology solutions based on the agreed upon business requirements
  • Develop and deliver a comprehensive training plan to enhance the in-house call center teams’ performance and quality in providing best-in-class support to patients and caregivers
  • Assess and prioritize opportunities for further functionality of technology and analytics solutions suite and execute strategy for development and testing in alignment with IT team and supplier
  • Partner with other members of the CAR-T Patient Support team including the brand team, business technology team, field-based teams, alliance partners, etc.
  • Establish and maintain a framework for program excellence through defining, optimizing, and monitoring program KPIs, including root-cause analysis of performance gaps as needed
  • Define, develop, and evolve program insight and analytics strategy including creating and improving feedback mechanisms and insight-generation processes to provide actionable data points
  • Own the development and delivery of monthly reporting and quarterly business reviews
  • Ensures individual and program compliance with all laws, regulations, and policies that govern the conduct of patient support programs and protection of patient privacy
  • Oversee daily operations of program technology solutions suite in alignment with IT team to ensure that data is tracked and managed in accordance with all internal policies and external regulations
  • Convey meaningful and actionable program insights to program and Janssen leadership effectively informing current and future business needs

Skills & Abilities

  • Shows ability to organize, integrate and analyze complex data sources from internal teams, systems, and external customers to produce cohesive insights that inform continuous program experience improvements and brand decisions on patient access
  • Attention to detail and ability to interpret and ensure adherence to compliance requirements in line with internal policies and standard operating procedures
  • Works with leadership to create strategic objectives that meet business needs and proactively leads cross-matrix teams in achieving objectives
  • Clear self-starter with talent for executing key deliverables on time and with desired impact
  • Passion in supporting multiple myeloma patients with the ability to translate their needs and serve as an advocate
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize activities to meet and exceed project timelines
  • Successfully engages with internal, cross-functional stakeholders and external customer groups and build successful relationships within a business-to-business environment
  • Demonstrates ability to translate key business questions into analytics techniques with working knowledge of data reporting from SaaS based platforms and appropriate analytical measures for patient support experience
  • Successfully leads conversations and navigates through required legal, compliance, privacy, data security, CAC, and HCC review processes with a spirit of collaboration, partnership, and solutions-oriented mindset
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical organization processes and strong understanding of technical project development and operations
  • Demonstrates ability to apply problem-solving skills across complex issues to execute against the strategic vision
  • Demonstrates excellent leadership and social skills with a heightened ability to collaborate and work within a matrixed team

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in the healthcare industry and a minimum of 2 years of pharmaceutical/biotech/medical device industry experience is required
  • Ability to work with data sets to identify customer insights, trends and report back to business stakeholders is preferred
  • B.S. or B.A. degree required
  • Prior experience and strong understanding of data visualization, data pipelines and development of KPI reporting solutions is preferred
  • Experience in patient/caregiver focused initiatives within a complex Legal & Regulatory environment required
  • Experience in leading and influencing cross-functional teams required
  • Prior experience with SaaS based platforms preferred
  • This position will be located in Horsham, PA and requires up to 10% travel for business as necessary
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate insights and recommendations to senior executives and key stakeholders required
