About The Team

Join our Lilly USA Data Services team, which is responsible for technology innovation for our US Affiliate. As an Associate Data Engineer, you will primarily focus on data integration and analytics solutions, under the supervision of the IT manager responsible for solution delivery and innovation.

What You Will Be Doing

You will help design and implement data-driven solutions, ensuring the availability and quality of data for analysis and business transactions. This role involves supporting data acquisition, integration, cleansing, harmonization, and transformation into curated datasets for data science, discovery, and analytics initiatives.

How You Will Succeed

• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to enhance data accessibility and fulfill data-related requirements.
• Architect, maintain, and optimize data systems, including databases and data pipelines.
• Monitor system performance and recommend necessary adjustments to optimize efficiency.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of business processes and data within the US Affiliate.
• Understand and translate business requirements into effective technical solutions in collaboration with senior IT team members.
• Implement and manage systems to maintain data quality, consistency, and adherence to privacy and security regulations.

Your Basic Qualifications

• Familiarity with AWS or Azure cloud technologies
• Entry-level experience or internship in IT, data engineering, or related field
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related field

What You Should Bring

• Ability to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment
• Interest in quality and compliance requirements
• Introductory knowledge of databases and analytics environments, experience with SQL and/or Python is a plus
• Eagerness to learn new technologies and business processes
• Demonstrated teamwork skills
• Good communication skills (verbal and written)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills
