As Associate Creative Director (ACD), you’ll help shape the creative vision for content and visual experiences on StudioNorth’s client’s accounts. You will collaborate with our clients, Account teams, and strategists to provide clear direction to other designers and copywriters and perform art direction and design tasks yourself. You will act as a critical point of contact for our internal teams, helping to move the work forward and ensuring key milestones are met while delivering on-brand creative that meets our client’s strategic and business objectives.


You will be an influential advocate for the work, able to present creative solutions thoughtfully, articulate considerations, and convincingly highlight how objectives are achieved. You’ll leverage data and customer insights and consider the entire customer experience to inform your ideas. You will be adaptable and able to navigate an ever-changing business environment and creative landscape. You will act independently to solve problems while continually working to grow trust with clients. You must possess strong self-management skills and the grit to thrive in a high-velocity, agency environment.


This position is a contract position, 25+ hours/week. You would be able to work remotely primarily; however, you may be asked to engage in occasional physical facetime with our team at our North Chicago or Chicago facility or a client site in the Chicago suburbs.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Articulately present the work & rationale of your team to internal collaborators and client partners.
  • Guide & effectively communicate both verbally and visually rationales, concepts, and designs.
  • Translate strategy and user research into effective design solutions.
  • Familiar with user-centered design methods and techniques, including best practices.
  • Practical understanding of Adobe capabilities to leverage them for design in brand campaigns, social media, websites, and print platforms.
  • Expert in design and utilizing tools in the Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • The ability to collaborate with the Development and Digital Design team to understand their capabilities and ensure your concepts & designs are implemented accurately.
  • Ongoing familiarity with upcoming Design standards and prevalent & popular best practices
  • Lead design teams to realize client goals & translate them into compelling visual solutions.


Requirements:

  • Online portfolio demonstrating strong design experience, conceptual, and execution.
  • Deep experience with design tools like Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Well-versed in standard design methods and techniques.
  • 7-10 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working directly with clients.
  • 4-year college degree and/or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience managing and leading other designers and design teams.
  • Familiarity with digital and web-based design best practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively on multi-disciplinary teams.
