Our company is hiring for an Associate Chemist in Iselin, NJ. Seeking an Entry level chemist to work in the laboratories to perform a variety of characterization testing generally assist senior professionals.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in one or more of the mentioned techniques and chemistry education and/or experience.
With some training and guidance, the position requires some data interpretation and report writing. The position requires someone with hands-on academic or industrial experience in characterization.
Responsibilities

• The successful candidate will perform a variety of routine physical tests for the Analytics and Materials Characterization group.
• Responsibility for ensuring that assigned testing for the laboratory is completed and reported to customers. Most tests are performed using software-controlled instrumentation.
• The incumbent is expected to operate under minimal daily direct supervision.
• Primary responsibilities will be handling our sample submissions (using the LIMS), surface area and pore size analysis using nitrogen adsorption (all following our ISO17025 certification), laser diffraction particle size analysis and maintaining control charts for analytical instrumentation and mercury porosimetry.

Qualifications

• Related experience in analytical testing, software controlled instrumentation and computer skills a plus.
• Position Requirements: BS degree in chemistry or closely related field.
• Good written and oral skills a must as well as the ability to work in a multi-tasking environment

Other required skills: No Master or PhDs. Working independently with minimum supervision Multitasking Documentation Instrument Maintenance Strong oral and written communication skills Computer literacy in Word, and Excel.
