End-to-End Prudential Retirement Strategies Modeling
Actuarial Enterprise Capabilities is responsible for the design, development, testing and release of inforce end-to-end models within the domestic lines of Prudential business.
This position will focus on Prudential Retirement Strategies (PRS) Modeling, reporting to a director in PRS Modeling, supporting inforce models for institutional retirement products. PRS is a critical business segment, representing $300B+ in liabilities and ~40% of Prudential's earnings. This candidate will have exposure to models built in multiple systems, including PolySystems, Python and C#, and will work as part of a team of ~30 actuaries across the US and India.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Guide junior associates and oversee their work.
  • Work closely with Technology partners to create a seamless end-to-end user experience around model runs, both for baseline Valuation / Forecasting and other required uses
  • Design solutions and be able to communicate solutions to less technical audiences.
  • Lead model conversions, transformation, enhancements, and testing efforts and provide ongoing model support for the Institutional Retirement models and E2E processes.
  • Lean into agile best practices to drive culture of technical excellence, focus on value, and prioritization
  • Partner with Valuation and model vendor PolySystems on requirements and to test model enhancements
Qualifications:
  • Highly motivated individual who can work equally well independently and in a team environment. Knowledge in institutional retirement products such as pension risk transfer.
  • Superior technical skills. Experience with SQL, Python, Power BI, and other coding languages preferred.
  • Creative problem-solver and results-oriented
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audience.
  • Open to remote/virtual location outside of commutable Newark, NJ location.
  • 5+ years actuarial experience including working with actuarial models.
  • Strong quantitative modeling and analytical skills; ability to understand and explain complex quantitative concepts and end-to-end models/systems.
  • Fast learner and ability to work in a multi-functional team environment
Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $111,400.00 to $165,800.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
