Job Description

General Description

Queens College is seeking a part-time Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach. The assistant coach will be responsible for assisting the head coach with the organization, development and implementation of a NCAA Division II women’s program competing in the East Coast Conference.

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree and a valid driver’s license, with a good driving record. Strong preference will be given to candidates with college coaching or playing experience. The candidate should have a desire to pursue a career in coaching and possess strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, computer/media skills, knowledge of NCAA rules, established recruiting contacts and the ability to attract high quality student-athletes.

This is a 9 month part-time position with a Stipend of $4,000, with no benefits.

Other Duties

Duties include, but are not limited to, the recruitment and retention of quality student-athletes; video editing; academic monitoring; travel logistics; player development; practice coaching; player management; administrative duties; assistance with team non-competition events such as community service activities, camps, fundraising, and alumni events; and assist the head coach in overseeing a program that abides by all NCAA, ECC, CUNY, and Queens College rules and regulations. Upon hiring, the incumbent must successfully pass the NCAA recruiting exam, defensive driving course, sexual harassment training and first aid/CPR.

Qualifications

The candidate must have the flexibility to attend morning practices and evening games while possessing the ability to work in a high energy, fast-paced and constantly evolving setting.
